Sliema Wanderers football nursery will be organising the ninth edition of its annual Carnival football tournament. This year’s edition will see 34 teams, 550 children between the age of 10 and 13, participating in 5 different age groups, including a girl’s Under 12 category from 16 different nurseries.

The nurseries of Birkirkara FC, Floriana FC, Hamrun Spartans FC, Lija / Iklin, Marsa FC, Melita FC, Mgarr United FC, Mosta FC, Paola Hibernians, Pembroke Athleta FC, Pieta Hotspurs FC, Qormi FC, San Gwann FC, Sliema Wanderers FC, Tarxien Rainbows FC and Zejtun Corinthians FC are in fact taking part in the tournament.

The Tournament will be held between Friday 4th and Tuesday 8th March at the new Sliema Wanderers FC Sports Complex in Tigne Point.

The Official Opening Ceremony will be held on Friday 4th March at 6.30pm in the Pjazza at Tigne Point. All the participating Nurseries are invited fpr an event full of Music and dance with the special participation of the Cicco Carnival costume dance company.

The event will be overlooked by Mr. Steve Gregory a football scout from Leicester City football club who will be travelling purposely for this occassion.

The Point Shopping Mall is the main sponsor of this event. This football festival is being powered by Gatorade.
