UEFA Women’s EURO: Late D’Agostino goal hands Malta three points

A goal by Rebecca D’Agostino two minutes in added time gave Malta the three points as Pierre Brincat’s side defeated Georgia 1-0 in the match which kicked-off Group 2 of the UEFA Women’s EURO Preliminary Round at the Centenary Stadium on Thursday.

The Maltese held the initiative throughout the ninety minutes but it was only in added time that the locals managed to break the deadlock.

In another match on Thursday, Armenia defeated the Faroe Islands 1-0.

On Saturday, Malta takes on the Faroe Islands, kick-off at 14:00.
