Courses for coaches and referees in Gozo

The Gozo Football Association in collaboration with the MFA Referees Department and the MFA Technical Centre will be organising three courses which will be held in Gozo.

The first course is one for prospective referees and will be held in April. The GFA is appealing to all former players to apply for this course as a career in refereeing will give them the opportunity to advance to the highest levels of refereeing within the association.

The second course is the Coaching Young Footballers course which will be held between Friday 25th and Sunday 27th March. The course will consist of lectures and practical sessions. The GFA will be subsidising a substantial part of this course since it believes in investing in the coaching sector is key to improvement in the level of the game on the island. The CYF licence is valid for three years.

The third course is the UEFA C Coaching Diploma which will be held over six weekends between April and May. Applicants need to be in possession of the CYF. The first four modules will be held at the Gozo Stadium and at the GFA Headquarters. The fifth module consists of six training sessions in a football nursery while the final module will be an exam. This course is also being subsidised by the Gozo FA.

As from next season, only licenced coaches will be allowed within the restricted area for MFA, GFA and the GYFA matches. The Malta Football Association and the Gozo Football Association aim at continuing to work hard towards strengthening the grassroots, coaching education.
