Champions Balzan Youths extended their positive run on top the BOV First Division table thanks to a 4-1 win over Dingli Swallows.

Lyden Micallef gave Balzan an early lead and Prince Well Okachi levelled matters on 23 minutes. However Micallef scored again eight minutes from the end of the first half to put the Youths 2-1 ahead. Goals by Uchenna Anyanwu on 66 minutes and Lyden Micallef two minutes from time increased the lead for Balzan.

In the second match, St. George’s and Lija Athletic shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Balzan lead the way with 41 points, followed by Mqabba and Melita on 29, Mosta 28, Lija 24, St. George’s 23, St. Andrews 17, Pietà and Dingli 15, Msida -3.
