Sannat and Xag?ra were in celebration mode on Sunday as Sannat Lions were presented with the cup after being declared Melita First Division champions and Xag?ra United claimed the Melita Second Division championship in Gozo.
The Lions had already secured the title a couple of weeks ago – the tenth in the history of the club. In their final league game, they lost 0-1 to Ghajnsielem.
On the other hand, the Second Division title was still up for grabs as Xag?ra United and Zebbug Rovers had finished their commitments on level points following a 2-1 win for Xag?ra last week.
Xag?ra won the championship decider 3-1 to secure promotion to Division 1. Zebbug, on the other hand, will now play Xewkija Tigers, who finished sixth in Division 1, in the Promotion/Relegation Decider.
