Under-17 side shares spoils with Albania in friendly match

The Malta Under-17 side shared the spoils with Albania in a friendly match at the MFA Training Grounds on Tuesday.

The locals started off the match in a convincing manner producing some fluent football and dictating play. Albania, after a slow start had some shots at goal but it was the home team who scored first with a well taken shot by Luke Montebello on 24 minutes following an excellent through pass by Kyle Cesare.

Albania levelled matters on 53 minutes when they were awarded a penalty which was converted by Marku Kristi.

Malta and Albania meet once again on Thursday in another friendly match at the Hibernians Stadium, kick-off at 11:00.
