Seven Premier League players suspended

Birkirkara midfielder Paul Fenech was handed a two-match ban while another six Premier League players were suspended for one game by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner on Thursday.

The other six players are Floriana duo Pablo Cesar Doffo and Thomas Paris, Marsaxlokk’s Carlo Mamo, Steve Sadowski of Tarxien and Valletta defenders Ian Azzopardi and Ramon Dos Santos.

Azzopardi, Ramon and Paul Fenech are ruled out of Monday’s big match between Valletta and Birkirkara. The Birkirkara midfielder will also miss the game against Marsaxlokk the following Saturday.

Doffo and Paris will miss the game against Hamrun while Mamo and Sadowski are ruled out of Marsaxlokk vs Tarxien.

In Division 1, Uchenna Anyanwu (Balzan) was suspended for two matches while Matthew Borg (Melita), Lydon Micallef (Msida) and Ronni Hartvig (St. Andrews) were banned for one match.

Seven players are ruled out of the last round of matches from the BOV Second Division, namely Luke Cauchi (Mellieha), Ismael Cutajar (Mgarr), Victor Bellia (Naxxar), Adam Smeir (Rabat), Christian Cacciattolo (San Gwann), Ilyad Scicluna (St. Patrick) and Johan Briffa (Zurrieq).

In the Youth League, Andrew Amato of St. Andrews was suspended until September 20, 2011. John Paul Calleja (St. Andrews) and Christian Calleja (Mtarfa) were banned for two matches while Michael Camilleri and Ryan Scicluna (Birkirkara), Enrique Mizzi and Jonathan Pace (Dingli), Chris Cardona and Gianluca Debattista (Hamrun), Matthew Aquilina (Kirkop), Neil McCiarn (Mtarfa), Larson Mallia and Terrence Agius (Pietà) and Luke Cesareo (St. Andrews) were all suspended for one match.
