Floriana FC issue statement following Court decision

Floriana FC issued a statement following a decision by the Court regarding payments to former Nigerian players’ agent Damian Iwueke.

The statement says that the committee is preparing to submit an appeal to the case. Although Floriana FC respect the decision, with all due respect to the Court’s authority, it disagrees with the way the case was dealt with.

Since the Court’s decision is not final, Floriana FC will not comment further about the matter until the club’s appeal is evaluated.

The committee shall address club members during an Extraordinary General Meeting on the 29th of April.

The Court had ordered Floriana FC to pay Damian Iwueke €22,464.48 for the transfer of transfer of footballer Christopher Chinedu Okoh in December 1995.

Iwueke argued that he had organised the transfer of the Nigerian player but had not been paid the full fee agreed upon.
