Holders and BOV Premier League champions Valletta were drawn to meet Tarxien Rainbows in the semi-finals of the U*BET FA Trophy. The draws were held on Thursday during the programme MFA Live on TVM.

The other semi-final is Birkirkara vs Floriana.

Birkirkara FC vs Floriana FC
The Stripes and the Greens are currently fighting for a place in the UEFA Europa League with Floriana lying four points ahead of Birkirkara. They met three times – Floriana won 2-0 in the first round, Birkirkara won 1-0 in the second while the third round clash ended in a comfortable 5-1 win for the Greens.

Birkirkara entered the competition in the quarter-finals, defeating Sliema Wanderers 3-1 on penalties following a 3-3 draw at the end of extra-time. On the other hand, Floriana beat Lija Athletic 3-0 in the first round, Mosta 1-0 after extra-time in the second round and Qormi 5-3 on penalties in the quarter-finals following a 1-1 draw at the end of extra-time.

The Citizens were awarded a bye in the first two rounds and defeated Hibernians 1-0 after extra-time in the quarter-finals. On the other hand, the Rainbows defeated Balzan Youths 3-1 in the first round, Hamrun Spartans 3-2 after extra-time in the second round and Vittoriosa Stars 4-2 in the quarter-finals.

Valletta and Tarxien met three times this season with the Citizens winning 5-2, 2-0 and 1-0.

The two semi-finals will be played on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May. The final is scheduled for Sunday May 22.
