Malta climbs two places in FIFA Ranking

Despite not playing any matches over the past four weeks, Malta managed to climb two places in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking and is now 161st.

Among European countries, Malta is 51st. Just ahead of Malta are Luxembourg (125, up 1), Faroe Islands (136), Kazakhstan (139, up 1) and Liechtenstein (153). Andorra and San Marino are the only two countries behind Malta in joint 202nd place.

The next game for Malta is the EURO 2012 qualifier against Greece on June 4.

Meanwhile Spain and the Netherlands continue to set the pace, some distance ahead of Brazil, Germany and Argentina. Major changes are also thin on the ground further down the ranking. Among the top 25, only Chile (13th, up 1) and Japan (14th, down 1) have traded places.
