Adrian Casha appointed Director of Refereeing

Former international referee Adrian Casha has been appointed Director of Refereeing by the Malta Football Association. The news was revealed during a meeting of the Council which was held on Friday and Casha formally started his new job on Monday.

Casha succeeds Patrick Fenech whose five-year term as head of the MFA’s Referees Department has expired.

A new structure for the referees’ sector is expected to be presented in the coming weeks. The association is also planning to set-up an academy for referees.

Meanwhile during Friday’s Council meeting, it was revealed that the association is currently in negotiations over a new agreement with referees with regards to fees. The Executive Committee started discussions over the new fees and will now discuss the matter with the Malta Football Referees Association.
