Serbian striker Miodrag Andjelkovic was not retained by Valletta FC after the player was demanding a one-year contract before the club could see him in action in the Euro Cup which gets underway on Friday.

The foreigners on the books of the club are therefore Brazilians Lucas Ramon Dos Santos and Denni Rocha Dos Santos who have been confirmed by the club and the winger from Burkina Faso, Ousseni Zongo – formerly of Msida St. Joseph – who returns to Malta following a four-year spell in Portugal.

A fifth foreigner could be Brazilian striker William Barbosa da Silva. The thirty-three year old striker played for Bellinzona in Switzerland, Carrarese, L’Aquila, Martina, Verona, Portogruaro, Taranto, Brindisi and Virtus Casarano in Italy.
