Winston Muscat appointed Marsaxlokk coach

Following the departure of Patrick Curmi who joined Birkirkara, Marsaxlokk have appointed Winston Muscat as their new coach. The Southseasiders also concluded the transfer of midfielder Christian Cassar to Floriana.

Winston Muscat started his coaching career at senior level with St. Patrick but then joined Vittoriosa Stars where he spent two years.

Muscat will be assisted by Darren Abdilla who was already his assistant last season at Vittoriosa.

Meanwhile Marsaxlokk have reached an agreement with Floriana over the transfer of Christian Cassar. A product of Floriana, Cassar was transferred to Marsaxlokk in summer 2008. However after just one season with the Southseasiders, he returned to Floriana on a one-year loan. Last summer, the Greens secured another one year loan of the 28-year old midfielder.

Following the club’s Annual General Meeting, Robert Micallef was confirmed as president with Edmond Grech elected as the new secretary and Carmelo Grech appointed treasurer. Joseph Bugeja will serve as vice-president, Anthony Lee Baldacchino as assistant secretary and Jason Vella as assistant treasurer. The other members of the committee are Thomas Zahra, Andy Caruana, Daniel Zerafa, Adrian Baldacchino, Mirko Fenech and Saviour Bonnici.
