Five football clubs benefit from Robert Arrigo sponsorship

Five football clubs and a futsal team were among a number of sports organisations who will benefit from a sponsorship by Robert Arrigo. The football clubs are Premier League side Sliema Wanderers, Second Division sides Gharghur, Gzira United and San Gwann and Third Division side Swieqi United together with Gzira Futsal. This is part of an ongoing sponsorship campaign by the company which started four years ago.

Arrigo said that his company is proud to help sports organisations whose committees are made up of volunteers who work hard for their clubs. He said such voluntary work deserved appreciation and encouraged other companies to do the same.

Sliema Wanderers president Steve Abela said that this was the fourth consecutive year for Robert Arrigo as the club’s main sponsor. Abela said that Arrigo wishes to have the Tigne Complex bringing together clubs and teams of various disciplines in Sliema and that said the club will be doing its best to make this happen.

The Sliema president went on to explain that although the club is not taking part in European competitions this summer, the Wanderers will be playing four friendly matches against foreign clubs – vs Sheffield United on July 18 and another three matches against Bulgarian clubs during the last week of July.

Gzira United secretary Tyrone Demanuele said that Robert Arrigo was not only helping the club in a financial way but also in establishing contacts and meetings the club is involved in.

Justin Fenech of Swieqi United said this sponsorship helps the club in cutting expenses especially due to the fact that the club does not have its own training grounds.

Raymond Colombo of San Gwann also thanked Robert Arrigo for his sponsorship, saying that such financial contributions help the clubs in trying to attract more children to nurseries in their bid to keep them away from bad habits.

The other organisations to benefit from sponsorships by Robert Arrigo are Athleta Basketball Club, G?ira Bo??i Club, Msida Bo??i Club, Stompers Rugby, Lifecycle Challenge and female Eight Ball Pool player Karen Grech.
