Justin Haber joins Kerkyra in Greece

Malta international goalkeeper Justin Haber signed a two-year deal with Greek Super League side AO Kerkyra. The news was confirmed by the club’s official website www.aokerkyra.com.gr

This will be the second season for Kerkyra, who are based on the island of Corfu, in the Super League after securing promotion to the top division at the end of season 2009/10. Last season, they finished thirteenth.

A product of Floriana, Justin Haber made his Premier League debut in season 1998/99, spending a short loan spell with Bulgarian side Dobrudzha Dobrich. In summer 2002, he moved to Birkirkara where he spent three years before joining US Quevilly in France in summer 2005. The following season, he moved to Royal Excelsior Virton in Belgium but mid-way through the season, he returned to Malta to join Marsaxlokk.

In summer 2007, Haber joined AO Haidari in Greece but the following season, he moved to England to join Sheffield United. With the Blades, the Malta international goalkeeper failed to play any matches for the senior team. After failing to break into the first team, in August 2009, Haber was allowed to join their sister club Ferencváros on loan until the end of the year. Five months later, he signed an 18 month contract with the Fradi.
