Two new foreigners for Floriana

Floriana FC announced that an agreement has been reached with goalkeeper William Amamoo and striker Edilson Fiori dos Santos to join Floriana. Both players signed one year contracts and both were included in the list to be submitted to UEFA. The two players are therefore both eligible to play in the Europa League matches against AEK Larnaca.

Twenty-six year old Ghana international goalkeeper Amamoo has represented his country 3 times. He started his career in his homeland before playing in Romania, Hungary, Egypt and Sweden. He has vast international experience and reach the Intertoto Cup semi finals on two occasions.

Amamoo nicknamed “The Black Panther” in his country because of his exceptional reflexes is one of the best goalkeeping products Ghana has ever produced and in fact he has won the Goalkeeper of the Year award three times in different European leagues.

Twenty-five year old Brazilian Edilson Fiori dos Santos left a very good impression in his recent trial including the friendly match played against Sliema last Saturday.

Dos Santos should be an important asset as he is capable of playing in all roles in attack thus given coach Michael Woods more options. His best weapon is his speed and Floriana will be his first taste of European football after having playing in Brazil during his career. The last club he played for was Inter Santa Maria.
