While in Sydney Silvan worked with ex AC Milan player Andrea Icardi who is in the Coaching Director of the Milan Soccer School in Australia and with Riccardo Tummiati who until recently was the AC Milan under 14 coaching director.
Thanks to the ongoing support of Balzan Honorary President Anton Tagliaferro, Balzan are this year hoping to greatly increase the level of their youth system.
“Anton is very keen to work with the Nursery to build a professional youth system at Balzan and has mandated the club to put together some competitive junior teams for the current season. This is a clear sign of the ambition of our club to stay in the Premier League in the seasons to come as we build players from within for the future,” said Ciscaldi.
“In fact we are putting things in place to allow the best of our players to travel to Italy in the next twelve months. There will be the opportunity for these boys to compete in tournaments with the Milan team from Sydney who will be playing in tournaments next season. In addition Ricccardo Tummiati has recently been appointed as the Head coach of the Youth system at Serie B side Gubbio and has agreed for our best boys to travel up to Italy and have trials with his squads there. This is a very exciting opportunity for all Maltese players,” said Ciscaldi.
“The club has significantly strengthened our coaching staff at our Nursery through the appointment of Rodney Bugeja and Charles Muscat, two experienced youth coaches to help raise the level of our young players,” added Ciscaldi.
Ciscaldi concluded by thanking all those who made this experience possible. “I would like to thank especially Anton Tagliaferro, the Balzan President Mr. George Borg and Peter Cipriott for giving me such an opportunity and their full support.”
