A full programme of games was prepared to give as much playing time as possible. This included participation in the Tournament, friendly matches and a triangular tournament won by the Pembroke girls.
Pembroke played ten 11-a-side games in five days, winning five, drawing two and losing three.
They defeated Garden Village 4-1 in a friendly match and then won a triangular tournament after holding Kaapo in a goalless draw and defeated Cimla 8-1.
Participation in the Welsh Super Cup started with a 2-0 win over Villa Dino. A 0-3 defeat to Mardy Tigers followed and following a 2-0 win over The Lemurs, Pembroke lost 0-4 to Glasgow Girls. They finished third, therefore qualifying for the second phase (Semi-Finals). Pembroke lost 0-3 to Mardy Tigers.
Meanwhile the girls also found time to tour the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Castle and were invited and entertained by the City’s Honourary Consul Sir Brooke Boothby to his home Fonmon Castle which has a long and cherished history. Together with Melita and Hamrun boys, the Pembroke girls had a wonderful evening in a organised treasure hunt.
On the way back from Cardiff, the team had the opportunity to visit the Big Ben in London.
The behaviour of the girls was exemplary and the team work of the officials of the Group and Coaches was excellent which encourages the Nursery to organise similar trips in the near future.
