Cleavon Frendo joins Sliema on a one-year loan

Sliema Wanderers secured the services of attacking midfielder Cleavon Frendo on a one-year loan from Valletta.

A product of Pietà Hotspurs, Frendo moved to Italy at an early age to play for Torino before moving back to Malta where he made his Premier League debut in season 2000/01. While on the books of Pietà, he also had a short spell with Lija Athletic in Division 1.

Mid-way through season 2004/05, he joined Marsaxlokk but in summer 2008, he moved to Valletta. Last year, Frendo was on loan with Qormi.

The Blues have so far signed foreigners Jorge Santos Silva, Rumen Galabov and Danial Mitev; goalkeeper Anthony Curmi, Ryan Grech and Timothy Thomas.
