Ray Farrugia names squad for UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers

Malta Under-21 coach Ray ‘Zazu’ Farrugia named the eighteen-man squad for the two UEFA Under-21 qualifiers in programme over the next few days against Slovenia and Finland. Malta hosts Slovenia on Thursday, kick-off at 19:00 and Finland on Tuesday 6, kick-off at 16:00. Both games will be played at the Hibernians Stadium.

Malta collected four points from the first two matches after holding Finland in a goalless draw away from home and then defeating Lithuania 1-0 also away from home.

The players selected by Farrugia and his assistant Ronald Vella are:
goalkeepers Daniel Balzan (St. Andrews), Steve Sultana (Qormi);
defenders Owen Bugeja (Floriana), Yessous Camilleri (Balzan), Matthew Gauci (Hamrun), Ishmael Grech (Pietà), Luca Martinelli (Mosta), Zach Muscat (Pietà);
midfielders Clyde Borg (Floriana), Triston Caruana (Hibs), Bjorn Kristensen (Hibs), Rowen Muscat (Birkirkara), Mark Scerri (Sliema);
forwards Miguel Ciantar (Balzan), Jean Paul Farrugia (Marsaxlokk), Leighton Grech (Birkirkara), Steve Pisani (Hibs), Terence Vella (Birkirkara).

Tickets for the two games cost €4 each and will be available at the gates.
