BOV Premier League resumes this weekend

The BOV Premier League will be back this weekend following a break due to the national team’s commitments in the EURO 2012 qualifiers against Croatia and Georgia.

On Saturday, Birkirkara and champions Valletta will be eyeing their third win as they take on Hibernians and Qormi respectively.

In the first game, which kicks-off at 18:00, Birkirkara will be hoping to overcome the challenge offered by Hibernians as they aim to extend their hundred percent record. The Stripes defeated Qormi and Mosta in their first two outings.

Hibernians, on the other hand, will be seeking the three points after collecting four points in the first two matches – following a draw with Sliema and a win over Marsaxlokk.

For Birkirkara, Andrew Decesare will be unavailable as he serves a one-match ban.

Meanwhile, Valletta face Qormi in the second match, kick-off at 20:00.

After defeating Tarxien Rainbows and Hamrun Spartans, the Citizens will be aiming for victory to extend their positive run to thirty-six matches without defeat. They should welcome back in their starting line-up Gilbert Agius and Michael Mifsud who missed the first two matches as they were recovering from injuries.

Qormi will aim at making life difficult for the Citizens. They claimed three points so far after losing 0-2 to Birkirkara and beating Balzan Youths 3-0.
