Edmond Lufi has been appointed as new coach. The former Hibernians assistant coach will be assisted by Jean Paul Desira. New signings include midfielder Adrian Farrugia and two foreigners – Spanish defender Ezequiel Belzuz and Chilean midfielder Jonathan Bilbao Zarate. They join Brazilian striker Robson Luiz who will start his second season at the club.
Coach Edmond Lufi said that he gladly accepted the offer to coach Pietà as he knows quite well the club after playing for the Hotspurs for a number of years and also for the fact that this job presented him with an exciting challenge.
Lufi said the Hotspurs are well-renowned for bringing up a number of players through their youth sector. He said that despite a number of constraints, the club managed to build a competitive squad and hopes the players show enthusiasm and determination to do well this season.
Besides strengthening the club’s foundations in terms of administration, Pietà wanted to make sure to have a competitive squad and appointed Edmond Lufi as coach. Sammut revealed that players from the nursery will start training with the senior squad in order to improve until until they are ready to play for the senior team.
The Pietà president concluded his speech by thanking the sponsors, namely Famalco, Teamsport through Macron, Kiton and M.M. Woodworks.
