Michael Mifsud casts his vote for FIFA FIFPro World XI

Michael Mifsud, team captain of the Maltese National team, is the first ever Maltese player to vote for the FIFPro FIFA WORLD XI. He was also one of the first Maltese footballers to join the Malta Football Players Association.

FIFA and FIFPro have joined forces to honour the best 11 players of the year with the FIFA FIFPro World XI award. FIFA FIFPro World XI is chosen by over 50,000 professional football players from all over the world, who vote for the best player in each position.

Thanks to MFPA, Maltese players have the opportunity to vote for the FIFA FIFPro World XI.

Michael Mifsud is probably the best football talent Malta has ever produced, and is the all-time National Team top scorer with 30 goals from 88 matches.

Michael said ‘I am honoured to join thousands of other professional players around the world to vote for the FIFA FIFPro World XI and to be the first Maltese player to do so’. Malta is one of the smallest countries but with a great football tradition as the Malta Football Association was founded in 1900.

Michael is now playing his football in Malta (Valletta F.C.) after playing for years in various European leagues with teams such as Lillestrom, Kaiserslautern, Coventry City and Barnsley. He started his career with Sliema Wanderers and last year played for Qormi.
