Four BOV Premier League matches on Monday

Four matches from the BOV Premier League are in programme on Monday – two at the National Stadium and another two at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

Mosta take on Hibernians and Floriana face Balzan Youths at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. At the National Stadium, four teams will be aiming to return to winning ways as Tarxien Rainbows face Marsaxlokk and Hamrun Spartans meet Sliema Wanderers in the two games which were postponed on Sunday.

In the first game a the National Stadium, Tarxien and Marsaxlokk seek precious points in order to climb out of the lower part of the table after collecting just four points from the first six matches.

The Rainbows registered a narrow win over Mosta and apart from a draw from Hamrun, lost to Valletta, Floriana, Qormi and Hibernians. Marsaxlokk, on the other hand, won the first league game against Mosta but then suffered defeats to Hibernians, Mqabba, Floriana and Birkirkara, earning a point in a draw with Sliema.

Orosco Anonam and Justin Grioli will be back for Tarxien after missing the derby against Hibernians.

Meanwhile in the first game, Hamrun Spartans take on Sliema Wanderers.

The Spartans registered their first win as they defeated Mosta in their last outing and now target another positive result in their bid to climb out of the lower part of the table.

Sliema, on the other hand, are still unbeaten as they registered three wins and were held in three draws. However they failed to impress in the draws with Marsaxlokk and Balzan. A win over the Spartans would put them back on track.

Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza is ruled out injured for Sliema. Hamrun, on the other hand, will have Scottish striker Dene Shields in squad after re-joining the club over the past days.

At the Hibernians Stadium, Hibernians are firm favourites to extend their positive run with a sixth successive run as they take on Mosta.

Adrian Pulis will be back for Hibernians after serving a one-match ban but Brazilian defender Diego Balbinot is ruled injured while Gilbert Martin is still recovering from an injury for Mosta.

Floriana, on the other hand, take on Balzan Youths in the second match.

The Greens were held in a 1-1 draw by Qormi in their last outing and are keen to return to winning ways. Balzan also managed to earn a point in a 1-1 draw with Sliema Wanderers.

Brazilian midfielder Pedro dos Santos Calcado is ruled out through suspension.
