Nine Premier League players suspended

Five Mqabba players were among eight players from the BOV Premier League who were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner on Wednesday.

Bojan Mamic was suspended for two matches while Clayton Micallef, Branislav Timotic, Marko Potezica and Mark Anthony Psaila were banned for one match.

Rennie Forace (Balzan), Carlo Roberto Polli (Hamrun), Clive Brincat (Marsaxlokk) and Ricardo Velludo Costa (Tarxien) were the other players to be handed a one-match ban.

Mamic, Micallef, Timotic, Potezica and Psaila are ruled out of the game against Tarxien with the Serbian striker also missing the game against Mosta. Tarxien midfielder Ricardo Costa is also ruled out of the match Tarxien vs Mqabba.

Forace and Brincat are ruled out of Balzan vs Marsaxlokk while Polli will be missing the game against Hibernians.

Meanwhile in Division 1, Frantisel Schneider (Birzebbuga), Francis Owusu (Dingli) and Vince Camilleri (Zejtun) were banned for one match.

In Division 2, Nathan Caruana (Zebbug) was suspended for two matches while Peter Paul Cassar (Kirkop) was banned for one. In Division 3, Joseph Gatt (Ghaxaq) and Kalkara duo Clayton Micallef and Melvin Agius were suspended for one game.

In the Youth League, Tyron Pace (Dingli) and Kirkop United coach Roque Farrugia were suspended for one match.
