Halloween Fun Football Festival held on Sunday

Young players from the nurseries of Hamrun Spartans, Luxol St. Andrews, Luqa St. Andrew’s, Birkirkara, Naxxar Lions, Pietà Hotspurs and Sliema Wanderers braved the rather inclement weather to spend a day of grassroots fun football during the second edition of the popular Mid-Term ‘Halloween’ Fun Football Festival organised by the Sliema Youth Football Nursery.

The young players from the Under-8, Under-9 and Under-11 age groups could enjoy playing without too much pressure and players of mixed abilities could be given more playing time by their coaches as no records of the scores or points were recorded and no Festival winners were declared.

The rules and regulations for this fun festival were those suggested by the MFA Technical Centre and YFA.

To add to the fun atmosphere, the Sliema Nursery premises was decorated with a Halloween theme and other activities were held including free fun ‘keep-fit’ sessions and table-tennis instruction for both children and adults.
