Valletta aim at returning to winning ways

Champions Valletta will be hoping to return to winning ways on Friday as they take on Balzan Youths in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

The Citizens dropped two points in a draw with Sliema Wanderers and therefore will be all out for the three points in order to move back on top the Premier League table.

The Youths defeated Tarxien Rainbows and Marsaxlokk and will be doing their best to give the Citizens a hard time.

Balzan defender Yessous Camilleri is suspended but Rennie Forace will be back after serving a one-match ban.

Meanwhile in the first game, Mqabba face Mosta in a clash between two-newly promoted sides.

The Reds welcome back four of the players who missed last week’s narrow defeat to Tarxien, namely Clayton Micallef, Branislav Timotic, Marko Potezica and Mark Anthony Psaila but Bojan Mamic serves the second of his two-match ban. They are coming from two defeats and will aim to collect the three points on Friday in order to move sixth if Balzan fail to beat Valletta.

Mosta lie at the bottom of the table with four points following a 1-4 defeat to Qormi. A win against Mqabba would put them on level points with Marsaxlokk and Tarxien.

Federico Tisbi is suspended for Mosta.
