B’Kara hope to bounce back from disappointing performance

Birkirkara will be hoping to bounce back from the 2-3 defeat to Tarxien Rainbows as they take on Balzan Youths in one of the two BOV Premier League matches in programme on Friday at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.

By losing to Tarxien, the Stripes missed the opportunity to move alone in third place after both Qormi and Floriana failed to win in their last outing. They are currently fifth on sixteen points.

Balzan Youths gave a good account of themselves despite losing 0-2 to Valletta last Friday. A positive result on Friday would put them back on track after claiming six points in the previous two matches.

The Youths lack Clifton Ciantar who was handed a two-match ban after being sent off in the match against Valletta but welcome back Yessous Camilleri. For Birkirkara, Angus Buhagiar will be back after serving a one-match ban.

Meanwhile in the second game, Floriana will be all out to claim the three points as they take on wooden-spoonists Mosta. Both sides are coming from a 1-1 draw.

After losing to Valletta and Birkirkara, the Greens earned a point in a 1-1 draw with Hibernians. Mosta, on the other hand, shared the spoils in a draw with Mqabba.

Goalkeeper Manuel Bartolo will be back after missing the game against Hibernians through suspension. However Ivan Woods, Tyrone Farrugia and Owen Bugeja are ruled out while coach Michael Woods will not be able to lead the team from the bench as he serves a one-match ban. Federico Tisbi will be back for Mosta after missing the last game.
