Women's League: Mosta join Birkirkara on top

Champions Mosta joined Birkirkara on top the BOV Women’s First Division League table following a 4-0 win over Raiders (Luxol) on Tuesday. The Stripes, however, have a game in hand as their clash with Gozo FC was postponed.

In another match, Pembroke Athleta defeated Marsa 4-0.

Birkirkara and Mosta lead the way with 18 points, followed by Hibernians on 12, Pembroke 12, Gozo 6, Raiders (Luxol) 3 and Marsa 0.

In Division 2, Mgarr United maintained their hundred percent record with a 2-0 win over Zurrieq.

Tarxien Rainbows defeated Lija / Iklin 11-0 while St. Venera Yellow Blues beat Kirkop United 2-1. Melita registered a most comfortable 13-0 victory over Santa Lucia while Zejtun Corinthians earned their first point in a goalless draw with Naxxar Lions.

Mgarr lead the way with 21 points, followed by Hamrun and Zurrieq on 18, Tarxien and St Venera 13, Melita 11, Kirkop 9, Lija / Iklin 6, Santa Lucia 4, Naxxar 2 and Zejtun 1.

In the Under-16 Girls’ League, Hamrun Spartans and Birkirkara kept the pace with leaders Pembroke Athleta as they beat Mosta 1-0 and Melita 2-0 respectively. Zurrieq and Kirkop United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
