St. Andrews joined Zejtun Corinthians in fourth place on 19 points as they defeated Vittoriosa Stars 2-1 on Saturday.

Nicky Vella Petroni and Ryan Previ scored the Saints’ goals with new recruit Ramon dos Santos hitting the Stars’ only goal.

Vittoriosa remain third from bottom on nine points together with Lija Athletic who lost 0-1 to St. Patrick in the second game.

Alex Ellul scored the all-important goal for the Zabbar side who join St. George’s on 8 points.

Pietà and Rabat lead the way with 25 points, followed by Melita on 20, Zejtun and St. Andrews 19, Dingli 14, Birzebbuga 13, Naxxar 11, Vittoriosa and Lija 9, St. George’s and St. Patrick 8.
