BOV Women's Division 1: Leaders return to winning ways

Leaders Birkirkara returned to winning ways in the BOV Women’s First Division as they defeated Gozo 4-2 on Tuesday.

The Stripes maintain a five point lead over Mosta who beat Raiders (Luxol) 4-1. In another match, Pembroke Athleta defeated Marsa 5-1.

Birkirkara lead the way with 35 points, followed by Mosta on 30, Hibs 23, Gozo 19, Pembroke 16, Raiders (Luxol) 7 and Marsa 0.

In the BOV Women’s Second Division, Zurrieq defeated St. Venera Lightnings 4-3, Kirkop United beat Naxxar Lions 2-0 while Tarxien Rainbows defeated Melita 1-0. Zejtun Corinthians were awarded a walk-over in the game against Santa Lucia.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, leaders Mgarr United moved eight points clear as they defeated Hamrun Spartans 3-0 in a top-of-the-table clash.

Mgarr lead the way with 42 points, followed by Hamrun and Zurrieq on 34, Tarxien 25, St. Venera 22, Kirkop 21, Lija / Iklin 15, Melita 14, Zejtun and Santa Lucia 4, Naxxar 2.
