BOV Women's League: Birkirkara keep marching on

Leaders Birkirkara maintained their unbeaten record in the BOV Women’s First Division as they beat Raiders (Luxol) 4-0 on Tuesday. A win which keeps the Stripes five points ahead of second-placed Mosta who defeated wooden-spoonists Marsa 10-0.

In another match, Hibernians defeated Pembroke Athletic 5-1.

Birkirkara lead the way with 38 points, followed by Mosta on 33, Hibs 26, Gozo 19, Pembroke 16, Raiders 7 and Marsa 0.

BOV Women’s Second Division leaders Mgarr United found no difficulty in beating Zejtun Corinthians 14-0 to maintain their hundred per cent record after fifteen matches. Zurrieq beat Lija/Iklin 6-0 while Melita and St. Venera Yellow Blues shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Mgarr lead the way with 45 points, followed by Zurrieq on 37, Hamrun 34, Tarxien 25, St. Venera 23, Kirkop 21, Melita and Lija / Iklin 15, Naxxar 5, Zejtun and Santa Lucia 4.

Meanwhile following the withdrawal of Santa Lucia, all their remaining matches will be awarded as 2-0 wins for their opponents.
