Pietro Ghedin conducts seminar for women's coaches

Pietro Ghedin, presently head coach of the Italian women’s national team, is in Malta to conduct a seminar for women’s coaches.

He was invited by the MFA Technical Centre for this two-day activity which is being held at the technical centre between Thursday and Friday.

Ghedin is familiar to Maltese football as he led the Malta Under-21 national team between 1992 and 1993 and was national team coach between 7 July 1993 and 12 November 1996, a period when Malta won four matches, one of which against Belgium. He was briefly succeeded by Robert Gatt, the current MFA technical director.

The Italian coach, an endearing acquaintance of many Maltese football followers, has been at the helm of the Italian women’s national team for the past seven years during which he has helped the team to high European and world rankings.

‘Women’s Team Building’ is the theme of the seminar which should be a useful experience for coaches of local teams as well as staff coaches of the national and academy teams.
