Joe Brincat appointed new Floriana FC coach

Floriana FC appointed Joe Brincat as their new coach. Brincat, who replaces Michael Woods who handed his resignation last week, signs a contract until the end of the season.

Brincat had started his coaching career with San Gwann but this summer joined Vittoriosa Stars. However in January, after a disappointing run of eight matches without a win, he was replaced by Oliver Spiteri.

Joe Brincat had played for Floriana for three years, joining the club mid-way through season 1994/95, leaving the club to join Birkirkara mid-way through 1997/98. He had started his career with Hamrun Spartans and after leaving Birkirkara, he joined Sliema Wanderers.

Floriana are currently fourth in the table but have now gone six matches without a win.
