Melita joined Rabat Ajax on top the BOV First Division as they beat St. Patrick while Rabat were held in a draw by Vittoriosa.

Melita turned defeat into victory, defeating St. Patrick 2-1 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium. Blendi Gockaj put the Saints ahead but goals by George Gribbon and Julian Galea gave the Amateurs the three points.

At the Centenary Stadium, Rabat Ajax were held in a 1-1 draw by Vittoriosa Stars.

Leighton Grech put the Stars ahead and Adam Smeir equalised for the Magpies.

A brace by Darren Falzon gave Naxxar Lions a 2-0 win over Dingli Swallows.

Meanwhile a stoppage-time goal by Nicky Vella Petroni handed St. Andrews the three points in the game against Zejtun Corinthians.

Rabat and Melita lead the way with 36 points, followed by Pietà on 32, Zejtun 30, St. Andrews 27, Naxxar 26, Birzebbuga 23, Vittoriosa 22, Lija 19, Dingli 18, St. Patrick 15 and St. George’s 13.
