Euro Cup: Valletta face Birkirkara

After losing narrowly to Hibernians, champions Valletta hope to end their Euro Cup commitments with a positive result, ahead of next Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League qualifier against FC Lusitans of Andorra, as they take on Birkirkara at the Hibernians Stadium, kick-off at 18:30.

The Stripes bounced back from a heavy defeat to Hibernians in their first outing as they beat Floriana 3-0 on Tuesday. Against Valletta, they welcome back Rodrigo Pereira who missed the last game as he was serving a one-match ban.

Hibernians lead the way with six points, followed by Valletta and Birkirkara on three.

The competition comes to an end on Friday with the last game between Hibernians and Floriana.

If at end of the competition more than one team finishes equal on points, the following criteria will apply:

(a) the highest number of points in the direct encounters;
(b) the best goal difference in the direct encounters;
(c) the highest number of goals scored in the direct encounters;
(d) the best goal difference in the Competition;
(e) the highest number of goals scored in the Competition; and
(f) the drawing of lots.
