Greens aim at regaining lost pride

Floriana will be doing their best to make life difficult for IF Elfsborg as they host the Swedish leaders in the second leg of the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League at the Hibernians Stadium, kick-off at 17:30.

Although everyone was aware of the strength of the Swedish side and the several constraints the Greens were facing, few expected such a heavy defeat as the 8-0 loss at the Borås Arena.

Floriana, who are yet to appoint a coach, with Ivan Woods taking the role of player/coach, had only fifteen players at their disposal last week.

To make matters worse, Tyrone Farrugia is ruled out on Thursday as he serves a suspension after being sent off in the first leg.

Elfsborg were in action once again during the weekend, being held in a goalless draw by Mjällby. They lead the Allsvenskan with 31 points, six ahead of Malmö FF.

In the second round, Elfsborg will be meeting the winner of the clash between NK Celje of Slovenia and FC Dacia Chisinau of Moldova. Dacia Chisinau won 1-0 in Chisinau last week.
