Justin Haber joins Mosta, Obiefule extends contract

Mosta continued to strengthen their squad after signing Malta international goalkeeper Justin Haber and extending the contract of Nigerian striker Obinna Obiefule.

Haber, who was on the books of Greek top division club Kerkyra last season, signed a two-year deal with the Blues.

A product of Floriana, Justin Haber made his Premier League debut in season 1998/99, spending a short loan spell with Bulgarian side Dobrudzha Dobrich. In summer 2002, he moved to Birkirkara where he spent three years before joining US Quevilly in France in summer 2005. The following season, he moved to Royal Excelsior Virton in Belgium but mid-way through the season, he returned to Malta to join Marsaxlokk.

In summer 2007, Haber joined AO Haidari in Greece but the following season, he moved to England to join Sheffield United. With the Blades, the Malta international goalkeeper failed to play any matches for the senior team. After failing to break into the first team, in August 2009, Haber was allowed to join their sister club Ferencváros on loan until the end of the year. Five months later, he signed an 18 month contract with the the Hungarian giants.

Meanwhile Obinna Obiefule, BOV Premier League top scorer last season with thirty four goals, will be staying with Mosta after extending his contract for another three years.

Obiefule had moved to Malta to join Hamrun Spartans midway through season 2009/10 but after being released by the club, he joined Sliema Wanderers. Last summer, he signed for Marsaxlokk. With the Southseasiders, he scored ten goals in eleven matches. After having his contract terminated by mutual agreement, Obiefule moved to Mosta, scoring another 24 goals to help Te Blues secure their Premier League status.
