Vito Giordano joined Qormi FC as technical consultant. He was presented during an event at the Dolmen Hotel for sponsors which was held on Thursday.

Giordano, a former sports director of Nocerina, will be collaborating with both the club and the nursery.

During a visit to the club and a meeting with the committee, he was impressed with the club’s new facilities. Giordano praised the Academy which started last year and the dedication of the members of the committee. Apart from the friendship with Qormi president Matthew Fenech, this was what encouraged Giordano to choose Qormi although other clubs had contacted him. Both parties share the same vision – that of giving priority to youths.

Vito Giordano’s work at Qormi started immediately with the several contacts he has in Italy which lead to the possibility of an agreement with a Serie A club thanks to which there could be exchanges of players.

Vito Giordano will in no way replace technical director Stephen Azzopardi. The Qormi coach is glad with Vito Giordano’s appointment and is looking forward to working with such an experienced person.

Besides Vito Giordano, eighteen-year old Ambrosio Catello was also presented during the same event. Catello will be part of the Under-19 squad.
