Maltese youngsters take part in Eurocamp 2012

Two boys and two girls from the MFA Academies attended the Eurocamp 2012 organised by UEFA and the EU in Wroclaw, Poland between the 28th August and the 2nd September.

Along with 250 other participants from all over Europe, they actively participated in a four-day programme of organised workshops on various topics like Healthy Eating, Social Integration, Respect and Team Building whilst for two days a 4vs4 tournament based on the UEFA Street Football World and Football 3 projects was played at the historic Centennial Hall which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Other workshops on Healthy Living, Employability through Sports and Intercultural aspects of sports were also held for all delegation leaders accompanying the youths. During the programme the participants were also taken for a cultural visit, in the form of a treasure hunt, of the city of Wroclaw and its Zoological Gardens. A Countries’ Cultural Evening where all countries gave presentations about their Organisations and local heritage was also held at the Academy of Physical Education Auditorium.

The experience garnered by our youths in this Eurocamp is in line with the educational aims and targets set by the MFA Technical Centre for its academies. The Maltese delegation was made up of Owen Amato, Joseph Mbong, Emily Pace and Rachelle Borg led by Joe Mallia.
