BOV Premier League resumes this weekend

After the break due to the national team’s commitments against Armenia and Italy, the BOV Premier League resumes this weekend with a full programme of matches between Saturday and Monday.

Qormi take in Sliema Wanderers and Floriana face Birkirkara in the matches scheduled for Saturday at the Hibernians Stadium, kick-off at 17:00 and 19:00 respectively.

In the first game, Qormi and Sliema both seek their second win. Qormi won their first game against Rabat Ajax but then lost to Hibernians and Valletta. Sliema, on the other hand, defeated Tarxien after earning a point in a draw with Floriana but lost 0-2 to Mosta in their last outing,

Coaches Stephen Azzopardi and Alfonso Greco should be able to file their best formation as no players are ruled out injured or suspended.

Meanwhile in the second match, Birkirkara chase their fourth successive win as they take on Floriana.

The Stripes claimed maximum points from their first three outings defeating Melita, Balzan and Rabat. Floriana, on the other hand, are still unbeaten after draws with Sliema wanderers and Hamrun Spartans and. 3-1 win over Balzan.

Birkirkara welcome back Ryan Scicluna but Brazilian striker Joselito dos Reis is still in doubt after missing the last game against Rabat. English defender Carl Tremarco should return for Floriana.

The two teams already met in the Euro Cup with Birkirkara winning 3-0.
