Marsaxlokk defeated Gzira United 3-2 in an entertaining clash in the BOV First Division at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Saturday.

Former Floriana striker Andre Grabowski bagged a brace for the Southseasiders with Rupert Mangion scoring the other goal. Alfred Effiong and Simon Shead replied for the Maroons.

In another match, Lija Athletic defeated another newly-promoted side, Gudja United, 2-1.

Ige Abdullahi Adeshina and Erjon Beu scored Lija’s two goals, Ryan Sell the only goal for Gudja.

On Sunday, Pietà Hotspurs take on Dingli Swallows while Naxxar Lions face Vittoriosa Stars.
