Esther Azzopardi Farrugia in England for decisive Women's EURO 2013 qualifier

UEFA has appointed FIFA Referee Esther Azzopardi Farrugia to be in charge of the important European Women’s Championship 2013 Qualifying Round Group 6 match England vs Croatia, to be played at Bank’s Stadium in Walsall, England, on Wednesday 19th September.

The other match officials appointed by the Malta FA are FIFA Assistant Referees Edward Spiteri and Mitchell Scerri.

This is a decisive last match for England as only a win will guarantee them a place in the final tournament being held in Sweden from 10 to 28 July 2013 with 12 teams competing at seven venues.

The current standings in Group 6 sees the Netherlands on top with 19 points and no more matches to play, while England lie in second place with 17 points with one match to go. The group winners will qualify automatically while the runners-up will be involved in a play-off in October.

Ms Sarah Garratt (FA England) will act as Fourth Official.

Ms Eija Vähälä (Finland) and Mr Gudmunder Ingi Jónsson (Iceland) will be the UEFA Delegate and UEFA Referee Observer, respectively.
