Under-17 side ends its commitments with a third defeat

The Malta Under-17 side lost 0-2 to Iceland in the third and final match from Group 9 of the UEFA Under-17 Championship at the Centenary Stadium.

Kristinn Sigurjonsson put Iceland ahead on 12 minutes and Eggert Tómasson converted a penalty on 29 minutes to double the score.

In another match at the National Stadium, Norway defeated Portugal thanks to a goal by Iver Fossum to win the group. The two teams however move on to the Elite Round.

Both sides beat the hosts and Iceland on the opening two matchdays to make sure of their progress to the elite round in March. Iver Fossum registered for the third successive game as Norway clinched top spot with a 1-0 win against Portugal
