BOV Division 2: Two matches abandoned due to bad weather

Two matches from the BOV Second Division which were being played on Saturday were abandoned by the referee due to the bad weather which hit the Maltese islands early in the afternoon.

The match between Fgura United and Mgarr United, in programme at the Centenary Stadium, was abandoned at half-time with the former leading 2-1. On the other hand, at the Luxol Stadium Pembroke Athleta vs Sta. Venera Lightnings was abandoned on 66 minutes with the score 2-2.

Zebbug Rangers and St. George’s move on top with eleven points as they registered wins at the Charles Abela Stadium. Zebbug defeated San Gwann 2-0 while St. George’s claimed a dramatic 3-2 win over Siggiewi.

At the Centenary Stadium, Kirkop United registered their second win as they beat Gharghur 3-0 while Mellieha and Zurrieq shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the Luxol Stadium.

St. George’s and Zebbug lead the way with 11 points, followed by Msida and Pembroke on 10, San Gwann 8, Kirkop, St. Patrick, Fgura and Zurrieq 6, Mellieha 5, Siggiewi and Sta. Venera 4, Gharghur 2 and Mgarr 1.
