UEFA Regions Cup: Russians too strong for Gozo

FC Olimp Moscow proved too strong for Gozo as the Russians registered a most comfortable 6-0 win in another match from Group 5 of the UEFA Regions Cup Intermediary Round at the Gozo Stadium on Tuesday.

Olimp, who had defeated Ialoveni of Moldova 4-0 on Sunday, took the lead on 27 minutes thanks to Sergei Orlov and seven minutes later, Roman Asadov doubled the score. Orlov converted a penalty four minutes from the end of the first half for the Russians to go three goals ahead by the end of the first half.

Sergei Orlov converted another penalty eleven minutes in the second half while goals by Ilya Korobetc on 83 minutes and Roman Asadov three minutes later, sealed the issue for FC Olimp.

On Thursday, Gozo take on Ialoveni who managed a comeback from two goals down to earn a point in a draw with Rinuzi / Strong of Latvia.
