Twelve Premier League players suspended

Twelve Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches from the BOV Premier League.

The worse hit were Tarxien and Balzan who had four players and three players suspended respectively. Balzan had Matthew Mendy, Jamie Pace and Dylan Grima suspended while Tarxien had Justin Grioli, Manuel Caruana, Andre Reinaldo de Souza Esposito and Daniel Mariano Bueno banned for one match.

The other players to be suspended are Paul Fenech (Birkirkara), Massimo Grima (Hamrun), Adrian Pulis and Zoran Levnajic (Hibs) and Matias Muchardi (Sliema).

Mendy, Pace and Grima are ruled out of the game Balzan vs Mosta while Tarxien will be lacking Grioli, Caruana, Andrezinho and Bueno for the clash with Floriana. Fenech, Pulis and Levnajic are ruled out of Birkirkara vs Hibernians while Massimo Grima and Matias Muchardi are ruled out of the games against Qormi and Melita respectively.

Tarxien kit-manager Matthew Tabone was banned for two matches.

Meanwhile Alessandro di Silvio of Swieqi United was handed a three-match ban in the U*BET FA Trophy. Ryan Mifsud of Marsaxlokk, Claude Carbonaro of San Gwann, Jonathan Grech of Sirens and Malcolm Buttigieg of Vittoriosa were banned for one match. Since these teams were all eliminated, these players have to serve the bans in league matches.
