Zejtun Corinthians and Gudja United earned a point each as they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in a match from the BOV First Division on Friday.

Ivan Kurtusic put Gudja ahead early in the game but Oldi Majtara levelled matters for the Corinthians.

In another match, Vittoriosa Stars defeated Lija Athletic 2-1. The latter therefore failed to take sole leadership in Division 1.

Erjon Beu put Lija ahead on 24 minutes but goals by Marcelo Pereira on 64 and 83 minutes gave Oliver Spiteri’s side the three points.

St. Andrews lead the way with 12 points, followed by Pietà, Lija and Naxxar 10, Gudja 8, Marsaxlokk and Vittoriosa 7, Zejtun 6, Gzira 5, Birzebbuga and Dingli 3 and Mqabba 2.
