Leaders Marsaskala suffered the first defeat in the BOV Third Division as they were beaten 1-0 by Sirens on Saturday.

They now enjoy a two-point lead over Mdina Knights, Senglea Athletic, Marsa and Sirens.

Mdina beat Qrendi 5-1, Marsa defeated Xghajra 1-0 while Senglea beat Attard 1-0.

Kalkara and Mtarfa returned to winning ways as they beat Swieqi United 3-0 and Ta’ Xbiex 1-0 respectively while Santa Lucia and Ghaxaq shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Xghajra are sixth on 24 points, followed by Attard on 17, Swieqi 14, Kalkara and Ghaxaq 13, Mtarfa 12, Santa Lucia 10, Qrendi 9, Ta’ Xbiex 6 and Luqa 5.
