The annual Boxing Day Football Tournament was held once again thanks to an initiative of the Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sport.

Four teams took part in the tournament representing the Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sport, the Malta Football Referees Association, the Malta Football Coaches Association and the Malta Football Association Staff. The tournament was held at the Centenary Stadium which was provided by the association free of charge.

The Malta Football Coaches Association won the tournament after defeating GħĠS 5-1, MFA Staff 3-0 and MFRA 6-1.

The MFRA defeated the MFA Staff 2-1 but then lost 0-1 to the GħĠS. In another match, the MFA Staff beat the GħĠS 2-0.

Funds raised from this tournament which included donations by the four organisations, players and officials which took part amounted to €1,415.
